Arroyo Seco Bike Path

The most difficult part of exploring the bike paths is finding them.  The bike maps  tend to leave out the exact entrances and exists so after a bit of research I’d like to share this information with all of you.

Arroyo Seco Bike Path entrance

Question: Where does the Arroyo Seco Bike Path start?   Answer: About a block down from the

corner of Pasadena Avenue and Arroyo Verde , the entrance is on Arroyo Verde thru the parking lot and you’ll come to the entrance ramp.  This is a short path, about 2 miles in the river bed and another mile along the side in a tree lined path exiting at the Montecito Heights Recreation Center.

This is an easy ride following the curves of the 110 fwy, very well maintained and lots of fun!

We met two fellow bike path explorers, Ingrid and Jessica.

Down in the river bed the water was flowing and clear but water levels rise after a storm, and then the city shuts the path down.

The Gold Line Tressel bridge crosses the path.  Unfortunately I wasn’t fast enough to get a picture of the train as it crossed.

To get in our exercise husband Bill and I rode down to the Montecito Heights Recreation center twice so we clocked 12 miles and made  our ride into a great workout.
